HOW CAN I KNOW I AM SAVED?

THE FATHER ORDAINS SALVATION

THE SON ACHIEVES SALVATION

THE HOLY SPIRIT APPLIES SALVATION

We can know if we are saved if we have the Holy Spirit inside of us. 

We know if we have the Holy Spirit when the following things occur in our lives:

Ephesians 1:
¹³ And now you also have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. ¹⁴ The Spirit is God's guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.

Romans 8:
¹⁶ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

Titus 3:5
He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

1)                FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

Galatians 5:

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. ²⁴ And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. ²⁵ If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. ²⁶ Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Now compare that with the Gifts of the flesh:

Galatians 5:

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, ²¹ envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

2)                GIFT OF THE SPIRIT

You will have a love for the Kingdom and to see it grow:

2 Corinthians 12:

19…We speak before God in Christ. But we do all things, beloved, for your edification. ²⁰ For I fear lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I wish, and that I shall be found by you such as you do not wish; lest there be contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, tumults; ²¹ lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and I shall mourn for many who have sinned before and have not repented of the uncleanness, fornication, and lewdness which they have practiced.

3)                HOLY SPIRIT CONVICTS YOU OF SIN

Your sin will now grieve you. 

John 16
⁸ And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

4)                YOU WILL HUNGER FOR THE TRUTH OF GOD’S WORD

The Holy Spirit guides us about the Truth and you will have a desire for the Truth of God’s Word.

John 16
¹³ However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

5)                HOLY SPIRIT LEADS US        

The Holy Spirit prompts us to correct our wrongs and to do right.

Romans 8
¹⁴ For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

6)                HOLY SPIRIT COMFORTS

The Holy Spirit Gives us comfort.

John 14:

¹⁶And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—¹⁷ the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. ¹⁸ I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
